After spending so many months (or years) planning your wedding, it’s important to keep a couple of special items that you will be able to keep ‘foreva’. It’s amazing how special the little things become once you’ve been married or a number of years. Even if it doesn’t seem important now, trust us, you’ll be grateful that your read this post in a couple of years time! We don’t want you to be celebrating your 5th wedding anniversary and wish you had kept a pressed flower from your wife’s bouquet to give to her as a gift, or want to re-commit to each other using your original wedding vows but can’t find them! So to help you we have created a list things you will want to save from your wedding day that you can cherish as years go by.

1. The top tier of your wedding cake

A great idea is to freeze the top tier of your wedding cake so that on your first year wedding anniversary you can take it out of the freezer and enjoy it after a romantic dinner!

2. Anything specialized for your wedding

Some couples decide to have napkins made with their initials on it, some decided to have to have little ‘Just Married’ bubbles, while some decide to have a special wine served or gifts for their guests. Whatever you and your fiancé choose to have that is unique to your wedding make sure you take at least one to keep.

3. A part of your bouquet and boutonnière

While a lot of brides enjoy the tradition of throwing their bouquet over their shoulder, you might want to break tradition so that you can keep your bouquet. You could dry the flowers or press them so that you can keep them forever.

4. Your paper stationery

Invitations, name places, menu’s and any other stationery you had at your wedding are great to keep and look back on.

5. Your guestbook

Keep your guestbook somewhere safe so that in 5, 10 or 20 years you can look back and see what your friends and family had to say on your wedding day!

6. Vows

Your vows are such an important commitment you make to the love of your life, so make sure you keep a copy of them!

7. Your wedding dress and suit

And of course, save your wedding dress and suit. Who knows, maybe your daughter or son may want to get married in it one day!
