Your Ultimate Ceremony Seating Guide

So you’ve reached the time in your wedding planning where you need to decide what to do about your ceremony seating. I have good news for you… We are here to help! With so many options to decide from when choosing your ceremony seating we want to make it as easy as possible for you to plan your ceremony seating!

*Remember your seating plan will depend largely on how many seats you have at your ceremony and how many guests will be there. Keep this in mind when choosing the right plan for your wedding.

OPTION ONE:
You can choose to divide your ceremony into one side friends and family of the groom and the other side friends and family of the bride. This is a more traditional way of seating your guests.

OPTION TWO:
You don’t need to have a seating plan at all! Just let your guests decide where they would like to sit. Most guests will leave the front few rows for family, however if you are choosing this option you may want to save a seat for your parents and immediate family just incase.

Where should my parents sit?

Most brides will save seats for their parents on the front row along with any immediate family, grandparents or other special guests.

What should I use to make sure their seats are saved?
A nice way to save seats is to print out a name place that is consistent with your wedding stationery/reception name places and put it on their seat or attach it to the top of their chair.

And don’t forget! The people involved in the ceremony will need somewhere to sit e.g. The band, people speaking or reading.

Your seating plan is your decision.
Whether you want something formal and traditional or free and unstructured, it’s up to you!
