Industrial, modern and full of love, Taylor and Rorey’s urban wedding at Brisbane’s Powerhouse Theatre was a true celebration of two best friends becoming husband and wife.
The Turbine platform at the Powerhouse Theatre was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony with guests enjoying drinks before and after the ceremony on the Brisbane river. What else would you want?!
This couple weren’t afraid to do things a little differently, with groomsmen and ‘bridesmen’, their reception at an inner city night club, and a cheese tower instead of a wedding cake. The bride danced the night away in her vans after a romantic first dance with her husband.
Ceremony styling
Taylor’s vision was to have a minimal and monocrome style with a colour palette of black and white and the addition of greenery by Garden Grafitti. The industrial interiors of the Powerhouse Theatre was left untouhed and created the perfect canvas for black metal chairs, black and white name places and modern welcome sign by Peony and Ink.
Reception
Brisbane’s inner city night club La La Land was the perfect venue for Taylor and Rorey’s wedding reception. The space was filled with neon signs, chandiliers, trees and greenery, and most importantly a huge dance floor and plenty of drinks. We added votives from AVIdeas and repurposed the greenery form the ceremony to add a touch of detail to the dry bar tables. Gifts and cards were ‘posted’ in an old school post box and guests indulged in an cheese tower for dessert styled by yours truly. There was plenty of dancing, laughing and good times celebrating the marriage of Taylor and Rorey and we couldn’t be more happy to be a part of their day.
