That is why I have travelled to Italy myself, to find and experience the best wedding venues first hand, to take all of the guesswork out of planing your dream Italian wedding.
Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing my top discoveries with you. So buckle up. You are about to embark on a journey to Italy, without the long plane flights, jet lag or slightly crazy driving. First up, we are heading to Tuscany!
If you asked me what my favourite place in Italy is, I would find it hard to answer. Italy honestly is such a beautiful place. If you forced it out of me I tell you that the peaceful landscape and historical sites of Tuscany were a definite highlight. Tuscany is all that you imagine it to be – with warm, sunlight filled days, driving through the countryside, wind in your hair and a castle on almost every hill. I know it sounds like a cliché, maybe even too good to be true, but believe me it is truly is spectacular.
One of the best wedding venues I found in Tuscany is Borgo Scopeto Relais. This exclusive Tuscan hotel is set within the tranquil Chianti Countryside, surrounded by green rolling hills and the iconic Italian cypress trees. From the charming rooms to the delicious food, every part of this estate is perfect for your dream wedding in the Tuscan countryside.
THE LOCATION
Borgo Scopeto Relais is located just 30 minutes drive from Siena and an hour and 10 minutes drive from Florence. I am all about taking the scenic route, so where possible I would recommend getting off the highways. By doing this you will also avoid the sometimes large tolls and get to explore the road less travelled. That’s exactly where you will find Borgo Scopeto Relais – far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Siena, but not too far away for the adventurous day tripper jump on a scooter and explore the historical city.
THE ROOMS
With your guests travelling all the way to Italy for your wedding, you will need to think about where they will stay. Relais Borgo Scopeto has 58 rooms and can accommodate up to 140 people. With classic, deluxe, and executive rooms as well as the villa and executive villa, there are options for everyone. The accommodation has so much character and charm and is the ideal place for your guests to stay for your wedding. It was even used in the movie Letters to Juliet!
YOUR WEDDING AT RELAIS BOROGO SCOPETO
The estate can be exclusively booked for your wedding or you can book particular areas of the property. From an extravagant wedding of 200 people, to an intimate setting for 20 people, Relais Borgo Scopeto has you covered.
You ceremony could be held in the beautiful green gardens for up to 200 people, or the quaint chapel for up to 20 people. If it is raining, there are two indoor spaces with a capacity of 150 people as a wet weather back up.
There are three options for your reception; outside on the grass or the terrace overlooking the countryside, or in the restaurant. The ‘La Tinaia’ Restaurant is within the old cellar of the Borgo, serving a delicious array of local and regional flavours. You can even talk to the in house chef about your wedding menu preferences to ensure the food is all that you imagined.
