PALM SPRING // Styled Shoot

One of the funnest things about being a stylist is getting to create styled shoots. Not only are there literally no rules, we get to work with amazing vendors around the city. Our Palm Spring shoot was inspired by the season of Spring and is a creative shoot to inspire YOU for your wedding.

Spring. It’s a season of growth – natural, urban and relational. This photoshoot was inspired by the natural growth that occurs in Spring and the parallel seen in urban expansion as well as the new season a couple begin as they say “I do”. With the concept based around growth, a style was created that captures the essence of Spring in a unique way. To create this look a number of elements were brought together and the intentional juxtaposition of elements is what causes this style stand out. Set in a urban construction site and warehouse, the raw and rustic elements of exposed rock, metal and concrete, contrast beautifully with the minimalistic elegance of transparent chairs, simple greenery and soft textiles.

Urban industrial meets elegant simplicity. The look of this style brings together two extremes – raw industrial and soft elegance. This style was captured directly underneath the Story Bridge in Brisbane where the old Howard Smith Wharves are being developed into a beautiful new landmark. The metal, geometric angles of the Story Bridge above inspired the use of lighting truss for the arbour and simple greenery as well as spray painted palm leaves were used to soften the look creating a unique, modern arbour.

The transparent chairs, perspex boxes and clear welcome sign create a elegant look and direct attention towards the exposed rock backdrop and the metal and mint features of the style. The metal, geometric cocktail furniture ties in with the metal arbour of the ceremony and the emerald and mint textures of the ottomans and cushions bring a soft aesthetic to the overall style. Stone coloured textiles bring cohesion between the reception setting and the ceremony backdrop, while the glass candle holders bring transparency and height to the table setting.
